Tori Penso, NISOA Managing Director

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Tori Penso has joined the NISOA Staff as Managing Director, effective immediately. As Managing Director Tori will serve as overall manager of NISOA, provide strategic leadership to NISOA, serve as the Liaison between our Sr. Directors and Sr. Operations Director and as our NISOA spokesperson.

Other duties will include recommending policy updates and changes to the NISOA Board and program objectives. Tori will also serve as our liaison and develop critical partnerships with outside organizations such as NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, NIRSA, AYSO, NFHS, USSF, and other organizations that will benefit NISOA and its members. In this newly created position, Tori will assume many of Lance VanHaitsma’s current duties as his work with CONCACAF becomes more inclusive.

Tori has achieved tremendous success in both the Business and Soccer arenas. Academically Tori holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a BS from Florida State University. Corporate achievements with many National Companies such as Red Bull and Coca Cola include, Director of Digital Strategy, Director of Client Marketing and Development, as well as specific work on Strategic Planning.

Tori’s Soccer Resume is one that is long and most inclusive. Tori currently is a NISOA and USSF National Referee. Her NCAA list of accomplishments are many which include NCAA Division I and Division III Women’s National Championships, ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big South, MAC, and SoCon Tournament Semis and Finals.

Tori also currently works in the NWSL as a PRO2 Official. Additionally, Tori takes time to give back to the game as an Instructor and Mentor at various tournaments across the country including ODP, NISOA Summit, WAGS, USYS Regional Championships as well as being the recipient of the famed NISOA “Rose Bernabei Woman of the Year Award.”

Again, please join me in welcoming Tori as she fills this critical position for NISOA. We are thrilled to have her as part of the team and look forward to continuing the great work from Lance and furthering the NISOA mission to assist the development of the game and increase the quality of officiating in the US.
