  • Attained National Referee badge in 2000 and remained a National Referee until his retirement in 2015.

  • Officiated numerous NCAA post season DIV I, II, and III championship tournaments, and served as referee on 2013 DIV I Women’s Championship game.

  • Officiated numerous NAIA post season tournaments.

  • Attended all chapter meetings and would participate in Physical Fitness Testing with chapter members even though he had passed FIFA level performance test.

  • Established the IOWA Referee Academy 14 years ago that draws 500 referees each year from USSF, NISOA, AYSO, and NFHS. The academy was renamed in 2016 “The Terry Vaughn Academy” for his dedication and tireless efforts to the Iowa referee community.

  • Started as a Referee grade 8 and advanced to Referee Grade 4 National.
