A new badge design honoring a legend

Your Leadership Team is excited to unveil the badge design for the 2024 season to commemorate our 60th Anniversary & to honor legend, friend, mentor, and Hall of Famer Terry Vaughn.

“As we look ahead to the upcoming season, it's also important to take a moment to remember and honor one of our own who is no longer with us. Last year, the soccer community lost a beloved figure, Terry Vaughn, a 2016 NISOA Hall of Fame member, to Huntington's Disease. Terry's passion for his family, soccer, and giving back to the game left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In recognition of Terry's enduring legacy, NISOA will be redesigning this year's NISOA Referee Badge to commemorate his life and contributions to the sport. It's our small way of paying tribute to a remarkable individual who embodied the true spirit of dedication and love for soccer. This redesign also coincides with NISOA's 60th anniversary, making it a fitting tribute to both Terry and our organization's rich history. “

-Benjamin Trevino, NISOA President
